Abstract: Because of many problems and challenges traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy facing with patients of personality disorder, Young developed schema therapy based on cognitive-behavioral therapy. Schema therapy focused on patients’ early maladaptive schemas and maladaptive coping style of patients, helping patients change early maladaptive schemas and develop healthy coping style by different kinds of strategies. It integrated cognitive-behavioral, attachment, object relations, Gestalt, and constructivist school into a new therapy model. Its integration will promise a bright future
