INTERNET: AS A NEW PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH TOOL

Abstract: Internet as a new tool has been used widely in psychological research. In this article we first introduced the brief history of web-based psychological research, and then discussed its methodological advantages and disadvantages. Its advantages include high validity, multiple subjects, more convenient, lower cost, etc. but this new tool is also accompanied with the following limits, for example, experiment control is loose, not all of the research can be done in the Internet, etc. In spite of these disadvantages, more attention should be paid to this new tool in psychological research.
