Abstract: Abstract: Research on aggressive behavior has long treated explicit aggression and implicit aggression as two relatively independent domains, with systematic differences between them in conceptual connotation, measurement methods, and neural underpinnings. However, aggressive behavior often exhibits substantial intra-individual fluctuations, suggesting the possibility of dynamic transformation between these two separate systems. Moving beyond the static debate between the unitary view and the dissociation view, this paper integrates dual-process theory with cognitive neuroscience evidence to propose a conditional model of transformation from implicit aggression to explicit aggression. The model posits that when an individual’s regulatory resources are impaired or situational induction exceeds a threshold, implicit aggression can break through cognitive control and transform into explicit behavior. This transformation depends on the interaction among individual states, situational factors, and trait susceptibility. Its neural mechanism is characterized by a dual imbalance involving excessive drive from the limbic system and inhibition of prefrontal control, along with the functional failure of shared neural interfaces.
