The Debate on Perception-Action Double-System Theory of Vision
    Zhang Hang, Fu Xiaolan
    2005, 13 (01):  1-9.
    Abstract ( 3978 )
Perception-action double-system theory of vision argues that the ventral and dorsal streams are distinct systems whose functions are, separately, representing the world and directing the action, which associates with dissociation in their processing. Views on the relation between the two pathways fall into two classes: traditional views that deny such a perception-action division, and cooperative views that emphasize interaction between the two systems. This article summarizes the key issues, empirical evidences, and contributions of each theory/view, and analyzes the conditions that visual processing takes place in a certain system, then concludes that the relative function division between the two systems leads to variety in visual processing.

    Abstract ( 4807 )
As a special kind, the research on the color term leads to a clearer understanding of the relationship between language and cognition. This article presented a summary of recent research on the nature of color terms and color categories, specially introduced two different theories: color naming universality and linguistic relativity hypothesis. Finally, the future trends and approaches in this field are predicted and new research approaches are provided, including research on association meaning of color terms, color terms and nationality, processing on multiple color terms, synaesthesia, concept structure of color terms.

    Theories Review on Conceptual Combination
    Liu Ye,Fu Xiaolan
    2005, 13 (01):  17-26.
    Abstract ( 2112 )
Conceptual combination involves accessing two or more concepts and forms a new concept termed combined concept. Previous research focused on how people understand noun-noun combined concepts and the related factors on interpretation strategy. There are many models, such as Competition Among Relations in Nominals Theory, Dual-Process Theory, and Constraint Theory. These theories explained well specific experimental phenomena, however, they failed to explain some stable phenomena, such as emergent feature and category effect. This article proposes that the future research should integrate all the existent experimental phenomena and theories, focus on the time course of conceptual combination, further investigate the role of context, and systemically study emergent feature and category effect of conceptual combination.

Qu Chen, Mo Lei, Tan Shaozhen, Wang Ruiming
    2005, 13 (01):  33-38.
    Abstract ( 2794 )
Reading perspective in expository text not only results in a selective memory of relevant information, but also influences on-line text processing. Regarding to the question whether encoding relevant information cost extra fixation time, recent researches on on-line text processing by means of eyes tracking technology explored that prior knowledge and working memory capacity are critical factors to perspective effect.

On Working Memory in Children with Mathematics Disabilities
    Wang Enguo, Liu Chang
    2005, 13 (01):  39-47.
    Abstract ( 1559 )
Working memory is defined as memory system that stores and processes a limited amount of information temporarily. Studies on working memory in children with learning disabilities indicated that, children with mathematics disabilities suffer deficits related to the visuospatial sketch and the phonological loop, and the central executive. In other words, working memory deficits are fundamental problems of children and adults with mathematics disabilities. Combining with multi-approaches, future research seems to explore why these working memory deficits result in mathematics disabilities.

Progress in Research on Neglect Dyslexia: A Review
Tan Xiangjie, Guo Xueping, Huang Xianjun, Ma Lifei, Weng Xuchu
    2005, 13 (01):  48-52.
    Abstract ( 2084 )
This paper begins with an introduction of the concept of neglect dyslexia (ND). Reading impairments in the ND patients are then described. The impairments, with preserved semantic access, include the extinction effect, the lexical effect, the class of word effect, effect of symmetry, and word length effect. While dissociation between neglect and neglect dyslexia has been documented, close relationship between two syndromes is also found. Finally, future studies on ND in Chinese are discussed. It is suggested that one of fundamental questions is to examine to what extent ND in logographic Chinese is comparable to that in alphabetic languages.

Advance Researches of Preschoolers’ Naive Theory Development
    Kang Rong, Fang Fuxi
    2005, 13 (01):  53-58.
    Abstract ( 2139 )
Naive physics, naive biology and naive psychology are suggested to be the core domains of the development of kinderganden’s naive theory. Rearchers, who mean to use theory theory to discribe cognition development, claimed that a body of knowledge must have three properties. First it must specify a set of ontology, second it must use causal principles which is likewise unique to the theory’s domain. Finally, there must comprise a system of interrelated concepts and beliefs. This article introduced recent researches about whether kindergandens can differiciate and limit causal principles of different domains, and suggested some issues that should be solved in the future.

    2005, 13 (01):  59-65.
    Abstract ( 2517 )
The Social Information Processing (SIP) is different between aggressive children and prosocial children: The aggressive children show hostile attribution bias, and their goal orientation is related to the damage of peer relationship. They evaluate aggressive behavior positively. The prosocial children show kind attribution tendency, and their goal orientation lead to peer relationship enhance. They evaluate prosocial behavior more positively. 2005, 13 (01):  107-118.
    Abstract ( 3328 )
Criminal behavior is a result of criminal decision-making. Based on the principles of cognitive psychology, the studies on criminal decision-making aim to explain the decision-making process and the influencing factors. The output of the research can be used as theoretical basis of making criminal justice policies and crime prevention system. There have been three kinds of theories of criminal choice: Crime rational choice models, criminal expected utility model, and the criminal prospect theory model. The research methods include psychophysical method, process tracing, interview, projective testing, and crime statistics, etc. In the future, further study would focus on the rational issue of crime decisions, and strengthen the confirmatory research.
