汉字识别的功能性拼字单位

摘要: 该本文探讨了什么是汉字识别的功能性单位。实验一和实验二重复了Chen, Allport与Marshall (Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1996, 49A, 1024-1043)的研究,但在 “同-异”判断作业中,不但安排了高频字,而且安排了低频字,同时改变了“不同”材料的配对结构。结果发现,笔划型态只在高频字“同”判断中扮演着功能性单位的角色。实验三采用字汇判断作业,结果发现,汉字识别过程中笔划型态不扮演功能性拼字单位的角色。总之,笔划型态只有在特殊作业的要求下,才是功能性拼字的单位。

Abstract: This study investigates the question of what are the functional orthographic units in Chinese character recognition. Experiments 1 and 2 replicated Chen, Allport, and Marshall's study, except that the “same-different” task involved not only high frequency characters but also low frequency characters and that the structure of “different” pairs was manipulated. The effect of number of stroke patterns was observed only for “same” judgments involving high frequency characters. Experiment 3 used the lexical decision task, which did not involve comparative judgments. Although the effect of number of stroke patterns was completely absent, the effect of number of strokes tended to appear. It is concluded that the stroke pattern is not the functional orthographic unit in Chinese character recognition. The stroke pattern plays the role of the functional orthographic unit only for familiar characters under a specific task demand.
