Abstract: Reading perspective in expository text not only results in a selective memory of relevant information, but also influences on-line text processing. Regarding to the question whether encoding relevant information cost extra fixation time, recent researches on on-line text processing by means of eyes tracking technology explored that prior knowledge and working memory capacity are critical factors to perspective effect.
