Abstract: Summed up the formation features of Naxi Dongba characters and different views of its nature, and outlined its cognitive features found by means of language cognition experiments. Based on it, made some comments on the enlightenment of Dongba characters’ cognitive features to its nature and its contribution to language cognition researches, including its contribution on Word Comprehension Theory, Psychological characterization Theory, and the relation between perception representation and semantic representation. What’s more, pointed out the further researches could focus on the brain mechanism of Naxi Dongba Characters’ cognition. It will provide more evidence for the law of character evolution, and keep going on solving the important problems of language cognition research. In the long run, the researches of Naxi Dongba characters will be an indispensable part of the language cognition researches.
