Abstract: Many protein kinases may play important roles in the expression or maintenance of hippocampal long-term potenitation (LTP). With gene targeting or transgenic technology, the involvement of some isoforms of PKC, CaMK II, PKA, and their subunits has been directly ,confirmed in the mutant mice which were deficient in the corresponding genes. This paper briefly reviews these protein kinases involved in the hippocampal LTP

Key words: hippocampus, LTP, protein kinases
