Abstract: Lu Ji's contribution is that he led ancient Chinese literary theorylaying stress on the essence of beauty and its social significance onto thestudy of individual psychological activities and subjective experiencesin the process of creation. His work describes the psychological activitiesand subjective experiences in creation with delicacy, and at the sametime brings to light some matters of regularity, thus his work isof psychological significance to some extent.
