Abstract: Following the dialectical materialistic viewpoint of evolution, the author deals with the reflective form of the psyche and its evolution from the lowest animals, such as the single cell protozoan, to the higher animals, such as the monkey. The author shows that the psychological development of animal is conditioned by its living conditions and the development of its nervous system; the development of the nervous system lays the basis for the genesis of human consciousness.
