Abstract: Social Jet Lag (SJL) is a prevalent circadian rhythm disruption among student populations, primarily attributed to endogenous, exogenous, and institutional factors. It is closely associated with obesity, increase of cardiometabolic risks, anxiety and depression symptoms, cognitive decline, poor academic performance and behavioral problems. SJL exhibits gender and age differences as well as a cumulative nature over time, and is particularly prominent among individuals with nocturnal chronotypes and during adolescence. Social Jet Lag negatively impacts students’ physical and mental health through mechanisms such as dysregulated expression of circadian clock gene, neuroendocrine dysregulation and brain dysfunction. To address the health hazards of Social Jet Lag, a technology-empowered “four-level” intervention system, featuring collaboration among the “government, schools, community, and families”, is designed based on its etiology and underlying mechanisms. This system aims to achieve the early identification, warning and intervention of Social Jet Lag among students. This research not only expands the psychological perspective on sleep rhythm health studies but also provides theoretical support and
