VIEWPOINTS FROM PRACTICING EARLY INTERVENTION IN CHINA

Abstract: Early intervention of preschool-aged mentally retarded childrenin present China is in its infancy. So, it is a great challenge to edu-cators, psychologists and social workers as well. In this paper the author provided her 9 persenal viewpoints onpracticing early intervention in present China.Discussions focus on:the necessity of early intervention in present China; the purpose,rationale, content, style, target, qualified teacher's conditions ofthe intervention;the evaluation of the effectiveness of early inter-vention and the steps of expanding early intervention in presentChina, etc.
