Abstract: This is a study of some problems concerning the socialistic competition in industry. The main aim is to find out the part played by the target of production in the socialistic competition. Four problems are discussed.1. The more definite and more concrete is the way of putting forward the target of production, the more marked are their effects in production.2. The effects of the comparative method of competition in the productive process depend to a certain extent upon the degree of similarity of the conditions compared. The more similar are the conditions of comparison, the more marked are the effects of the comparison.3. The effect of high productive targets is different from thai of low ones. The targets will have no influence upon production if they are either too high or too low. Advanced and practicable targets exercise bigger influence upon production.4. The knowledge of achievements in production have favourable influences upon the production. The more appropriate is the time of knowing the achievements, the more favourable will be the influence.
