Abstract: The social constructivist theory of emotion argues that although emotion is built upon one or more biological systems of behavior, the functional significance of emotion is to be found primarily within the sociocultural system. Emotions are among the roles society creates and individuals enact. Emotions are social constructions, and they can be fully understood only upon a social level analysis
