Employability: Definition, Structure and Empirical Findings

Abstract: With the changing connotations of employability, researchers are increasingly focusing on individual characteristics and their interactions with situational factors to explore the internal structures of employability and trying to develop multi-dimensional tests and use multi-source assessments in studies more than before. Although, a number of western empirical researches with employability as antecedents, consequences, mediators or moderators have achieved fruitful results, there are still many controversies and limitations in theory. It is necessary to explore the localization content structures and measurements of employability in China, as well as its special forming, developing and functioning mechanism in the boundaryless career era.
