Abstract: The correlations between the area of contingent negative variation(CNV)and reaction time (RT) were studied by means of selectivesummation technique on 15 subjects. The results indicated that when significant differences were obtainedbetween the longest and shortest RTs CNVs associated with the slowestRTs were also significantly smaller than CNVs associated with theshortest RTs. The differences were mainly in the later part of CNV. The possiblecause of this phenomenon was discussed.
