Abstract: In the light of Marxism-leninism, and especially Comrade Mao Tse-tung's thinking on Practice, this paper brings out the role of practice in the genesis and development of human consciousness. The authors attempt to analyze the influence of productive activity in the formation of man's senses, conception, speech rind thought, etc. They pointed out that the principle that labor created man also means that labor created consciousness. They point out the dependence of human consciousness on society; human consciousness in class society inevitably has a class character, and class struggle is the great motive force in the development of human consciousness in class society.
