Help-Seeking Behavior in Organization

Abstract: Complexity of work content and uncertainty of work environment have exerted a significant influence on mutual assistance between employees. Autonomous help-seeking behavior contributes to employees’ performance, creativity and well-being. By reviewing related western studies, this overview clarified the concepts, classifications, antecedents and consequences of employee help-seeking behavior in organization. It is essential that future studies focus on the cultural difference and improve research methods so as to better explore the connotation and mechanism of help-seeking behavior in organizational context.
