Vicarious Trauma: Self-protection of Rescue Workers in Crisis Intervention

Abstract: Vicarious trauma is a common phenomenon in crisis intervention, which brings varying degrees of physical and psychological harms to rescue workers. Therefore, the problem of vicarious trauma of rescue workers should be concerned about in time to protect their own mental health. Researches have shown that vicarious trauma mainly results from the personal factors of rescue individuals and the specific environmental factors. At present, the interventions to vicarious trauma mainly include the strategies of upgrading the professional level, mastering the skills of self-regulation, and implementing the group sharing, etc
