DISORDERS OF VISUAL PERCEPTION AND VISUAL MEMORY IN BRAIN DAMAGED PATIENTS
Tang Cimei,Liu Yin,Yan Xiwei Institute of psychology, Academia Sinica Beijing Neurosurgical Institute
    1990, 22 (01):  3-9.
    Abstract ( 554 )
The Complex Figure Test (CFT) was used to test 82 patients with brain damage and 62 normal subjects. The fragmented or piecemeal appr- oach to copying the complex figure was observed in 23.3% brain damag- ed patients. The patients with left hemisphere lesions displayed more fra- gmented approach than those with right hemisphere lesions did, while the later made more figures disorganized in spatial arrangement of the eleme- nts. There was no difference in the errors of spatial estimation between patients with left and right hemisphere lesions. Most brain damaged patients tended to lose, distort or confuse many of the elements of the figures in the recall trial. When they attempted to recall the Rey Figure, some of them only memorized several segmental details with no overall configuration for form.

SPEECH SOUND AND RECOGNITION OF CHINESE CHARACTERS
Wang Naiyi Institute of Psychology, Academia Sinica
    1990, 22 (01):  10-17.
    Abstract ( 566 )
The asymmetry of hemisphric function in recognizing Chinese single words by normal hearing Ss and prelingually deaf Ss were compared by using tachistoscopic method. The results indicated that the two groups had opposite hemispheric advantage both when the test words were presen- ted unilaterally and when they were presented simultaneously to the right and left visual field, i.e., the deaf Ss showed the left visual field advan- tage (the right hemisphere) and the normals showed that of the right visual field (the left hemisphere). However, the functions of the left hemisphere in the deaf declined while their right hemisphere functioned as well as the normals', which suggested that the absence of the speech perception imp- eded severely the normal development of the left hemisphere function me- diated by phonological and phonetic information processing. In recognition processing of Chinese characters, the speech sound was probably an im- portant factor to determine cerebral lateralization. There was no difference between the right and left visual fields in the recognition of Arabic num- erals for both groups.

AN EXPERIMENT TO INTRODUCE SET-VALUED STATISTICS INTO THE EVALUATION METHOD OF THE SIGNAL DETECTABILITY THEORY
Meng Qingmao,Li Yongjian Beijing Normal University Sichuan Normal University
    1990, 22 (01):  18-24.
    Abstract ( 795 )
In order to find out a and f(u) (average degree of believing), the method of Set-Valued Statistics in Fuzzy Sets can be directly introduced into the evalution method of the signal detectability theory to deal with the data collected from the experiment. This experiment proves that: a and f(u) is an index of recognition ability as good as d' and its meaning is even clearer; the calculation principles of a and f(u) do not require the normal distribution of original data, and repetitions of the experiment can be greatly reduced; the per- person-time judgement in the evaluation method is an experiment of Set- Valued Statistics.

THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE MEMORY OF OVERLAPPING TASKS (Ⅱ)
Fang Liluo,Gao Jing Institute of Psychology, Academia Sinica
    1990, 22 (01):  25-31.
    Abstract ( 546 )
The results of simulating experiments for the overlapping task in Lab. indicated that (1 ) The task overlapping type, the number of overlapping task and the intervallic time for the stimulus presentation are the factors which influence the performances of overlap memory which will be decrease with the increasing of the complex degree of the task overlapping type, which will be increase with the increasing of the inter- vallic time, which will be decrease with the increasing of the number of overlapping task in the multiple overlapping type, and then indicated that the time buzy and the intensity of thinking/ information-processing are factors of the mental workload. (2)The curve formula of overlap- ping memory in this experimental situation were made.

THE FACTOR ANALYSIS OF THE ABILITY STRUCTURE OF CHINESE READING OF THIRD GRADE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
    Mo Lei South-China Normal University
    1990, 22 (01):  43-52.
    Abstract ( 530 )
In this research, the ability structure of Chinese reading of third grade junior high school students were analyzed by using the Activity- Factor Analysis. The Chinese Reading Achievement Tests were administ- ered to 286 Ss from high school in Guang Zhou. The data were factoriz- ed with the oblique rotation technique and eight factors were achieved. The factors were appraised by using the activity appraisement method and the appraisal test intervantion method. Their psychological essenca was revealed. The eight factors include the abilities of language decodi- ng, reading organization, model identification, schreening-storage, sum- marization, evaluation, language sense and reading transfer.

AALYSIS OF FUZZY STATISTICS FR DESIGNATING VALUE TO QUALIFIERS SMANTICS
Ma Mouchao Institute of Psychology, Academia Sinica
    1990, 22 (01):  53-59.
    Abstract ( 499 )
The present paper has used an empirical approach called the statistics of interval for designating value to qualifiers or classifiers semantics in dimensions associated with difference, goodness and certainty. 253 subje- cts have participated the work. In this paper several statistic indexes have been listed. They are membership function of fuzzy set, psychological scale value and fuzziness-grade, which correspond to each of qualifiers or cla- ssifiers. It will be demonstrated from the results obtained the given words are fuzzy concepts except for one of them. It has therefore been found that there are strict ordinal relations among them, distance of adja- cent two ordinal word is not equal, and fuzziness-grade for each of them is different.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ELEMENT AMOUNT AND BINOCULAR STEREOSCOPIC PERCEPTION
Jin Guichang,Zheng Zhuying,Zhou Guirong Institute of Biophysics, Academia Sinica
    1990, 22 (01):  60-65.
    Abstract ( 547 )
A static and a dynamic random-dit stereogram(RDS) pair is produ- ced respectively by a microcomputerized pseudo RDS generator and displa- yed on corresponding left and right oscilloscopes, observed by two eyes respectively. 10 subjects with normal stereoscopic vision viewed by a stereoscopy and the smallest tolerant element density in which binocular fusion can produce clear perception of form in depth was determined. Three experiments were designed to determine the effect of changing spatial parameters of RDS patterns on the limitation of the element den- sity. The first was the change of pattern area for the static and the dy- namic RDS respectively. The second was the change of pattern form and the third was the change of circumference of pattern with disparity. The result indicates that binocular stereoscopic perception can tolera- te a certain limitatity of element density, changing of size and form of pattern affects tolerant element density to a certain extent. The limitati- on of tolerant element density for static RDS differs for dynamic one. The experimental result was discussed using global stereoscopic cha- racteristic and spational frequency channel.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMPATHY AND PROSCCIAL BEHAVIOR IN ADOLESCENTS
Li Liao Deparment of Psychology,Beijing Normal University
    1990, 22 (01):  74-81.
    Abstract ( 958 )
The methods of natural experiment, scales and questionnaire were used in studying the relationship between empathy and prosocial behavior. The subjects were 144 middle school students aged 12-16. The results of the experiment demonstrated a significant positive correlation between em- pathic capacity and prosocial behavior. The Empathy Training Series had been designed and adminstrated to the experimental group, and their empathic capacity was apparently enhanced and their prosocial behavior fostered. This technique has a great practical value in moral education of adolescents.

Zhang Jiawei The Northeast Normal University
    1990, 22 (01):  90-98.
    Abstract ( 1004 )
In the attempt of studying the common characteristics of young peas- ants' personality structure and the differences between the peasants who had started a rich life depending on learning and exercising advanced te- chniques in their productive labours and the peasants of ordinary life le- vel, the Cattel's Sixteen Personality Factors Questionnaire was used in measuring the personality characteristics of 168 young peasants in the three provinces of Liao Ning, Jilin and Hei Long Jiang, Northeast China. The results showed that the rich young peasants were superior to the ot- her young peasants in the factors of intelligence (B), premia-harria(I), experimentation (Al), dominance-submissiveness (E) and super-ago str- ength (G); In the style of the secondary personality factors, the formers were more adaptive while the latterk were more timid.

    1990, 22 (01):  99-105.
    Abstract ( 702 )
The author used the Method by Memorizing the Concrete Objects As- sociated with the Shapes of Arabic numerals to Produce Marvellour Ima- gination (MMOAAPMI) created by himself to memorize 105 chemical ele- ments and 300 digits of π. The result indicates that One can learn by beart very quickly and very effiently long materials which have a strong order. One can recite, without proactive and retroactive interference, from the very beginning to the end or the other way around or choose any point in the middle as the starting point to start the recitation. By using these methods, one can get in memory with a rate of nearly 100% for a hundred days, with only a revision one lay later to reinforce what is not surely memorized. The author believes that it is more appropriate to de- fine Hermann Ebbinghaus' retention curve a that of rote memory curve. The details of remembering and reciting in either direction the terms of 105 chemical elements and 300 digits of within one day and the skills to master MMOAAPMI.
